Telangana ministers Etela Rajender and T Harish Rao today said that the first pushkaralu in Telangana were being conducted on a grand scale.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the ministers said that they had provided all possible facilities by allotting Rs. 600 crores to the event.
They said that minor incidents had taken place here and there due to a lack of experience of conducting pushkaralu earlier, but that the overall management was quite good.
Expressing shock at the accident that occurred at Ambaripet, the ministers exhorted the pilgrims not to rush to the pushkaralu in in haste as there was ample time till July 25.
The state government had deployed additional police forces for the maintenance of traffic and security, they informed. Steps were in place to see that the devotees did not face any problems, they added, and said that each district had two ministers looking after the arrangements. (NSS)
