Fire broke out in the Chutneys restaurant building in Kukatpally on Sunday morning. There were no casualties.
Seeing thick smoke emanating from the building, the workers in the restaurant evicted all the customers and alerted the fire service station.
Three fire tenders, one each from the Kukatpally, Madhapur and Sanathnagar fire stations, making about 20 fire fighters, rushed to the spot and put out the fire.
A Kukatpally Fire Station officer said that a short-circuit had occurred in the cellar of the building leading to the fire, and that the fire spread to the first floor through the electric wires.
