An explosion at the Premier Explosives Factory in Peddakandukuru village of Yadagirigutta mandal killed a labourer and injuring seven other workers seriously.
An explosion occurred today at the Premier Explosives Factory in Peddakandukuru village of Yadagirigutta mandal, killing a labourer Kanakayya, and injuring seven other workers seriously.
One of the injured, Mogilipaka Prakash from Ramajipeta village in Yadagirigutta mandal, is said to be in critical condition. He was rushed to the Bhuvanagiri area hospital for basic treatment and later shifted to a private hospital.
Many of the injured workers have now been transferred to private hospitals in Hyderabad.
Telangana Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah inspected the site and inquired about the incident from the local police. He also visited the family members of the deceased.
He later said that despite numerous accidents the factory management had not taken measures to prevent them. He added that in the past three years five workers had died at the same factory.
"Companies are making money at the cost of workers' lives. The company has 1,000 employees, yet there isn't even one ambulance. I will discuss this issue with the company management and take it up with the State government as well," he said.
