Fee Reimbursement: SFI Protests

The Students' Federation of India (SFI), on Wednesday, warned the government that its activists would lay siege to the residences and convoys of ruling party ministers at the district level by September-end, if funds for the fee reimbursement scheme are not released.

Talking to Indian News Network, SFI president K Chandra Mohan took exception to the delay in solving the fee reimbursement and scholarships issue. He charged the government of failing to keep up the promise it had made in its manifesto. He further said that student's pleas have been ignored or left in cold storage.

"The students across the state pursing professional and non-professional courses have been left in the lurch by the indifferent attitude of the government over the issues of fee reimbursement and scholarship. The government is playing with the sentiments and careers of students by giving false assurances," the SFI president rued.

Earlier, students staged a demonstration and burnt the effigy of the state government at the Somajiguda Press Club.
