PDSF Activists Burn Government Effigy In Protest

The PDSF demanded that the Telangana government refrain from plotting to scrap the students' fee reimbursement scheme.
Hyderabad | 20th November 2024
The Progressive Democratic Students' Federation (PDSF) State Committee today demanded that the Telangana government refrain from "plotting" to scrap the fee reimbursement scheme.

As a mark of protest against the government's negligence in releasing pending fee reimbursement dues and scholarship arrears to the colleges, PDSF activists burned an effigy of the government.

Private degree and post-graduate (PG) college managements have been on strike since November 19, leaving students across all private colleges in the State anxious about missing classes. PDSF activists called on the government to take immediate action to release the pending dues to the colleges.

They also urged the implementation of a green channel system to ensure timely reimbursement of fees at the beginning of each academic year. Additionally, they demanded a resolution of the broader issues faced by educational institutions, including in the recruitment of lecturers and professors in degree and PG colleges and universities.
