Following the increase in diet and cosmetic charges for 765,705 students across all social welfare hostels, Principal Secretary of Education B Venkatesham and other welfare department secretaries met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today to express their gratitude for the significant decision.
The State government recently hiked the charges (allowances) for students living in these hostels for diet (food) and cosmetic (personal hygiene) expenses.
The State government termed this decision as a Diwali gift for students living in the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGWREIS).
The Chief Minister instructed the authorities to implement the necessary changes to the diet, and ensure that students received nutritious meals daily in the hostels. He ordered officials to introduce the new diet within ten days.
