Agriculture Department officials on Thursday cautioned farmers in the state against using 5 insecticides which were found to be of inferior quality.
According to an official release, the insecticides that include Chlorpyriphos 50% plus Cypermethrin 5 EC with batch number VCC-11, being sold under the trade name of 'Vep Jodi 505' and manufactured by Sri Venkateshwara Insecticides and Allied Chemicals Ltd., was found to be of inferior quality when tested at a chemical testing centre in Warangal.
Similarly, Profenofs 50% EC with the batch number 09070202, sold with the trade name of 'Hexanova' and manufactured by Koramandal Fertilisers was found to be inferior when tested in Anantapur district.
Profenofs 50% EC with the batch number 120/124, sold with trade name 'Kilcron' by Kristal Fertilisers, along with Profenofs 50% EC with the batch number 1029, trade-named 'Getrid' by Hyderabad Chemicals Limited, were also found to be of bad quality when checked by a testing centre in Anantapur district.
Apart from these, Indoxacarb 15.8% EC with the batch number 10SV 905 carrying the trade name 'Avaunt' and manufactured by EI Dupont India Private Limited was proved to be inferior by a lab in Guntur district.
Farmers have been alerted against using these products, and traders and stockists in possession of these insecticides for sale will be liable for punishment.
