A key development took place in the sensational phone-tapping case today.
A Nampally court granted interim bail to former Additional SP Bhujanga Rao, who was A2 in the case.
The bench heard Rao's plea to grant him bail due to illness, and ruled by granting conditional interim bail to him for 15 days. He was ordered not to leave Hyderabad without court orders.
The police had arrested Rao on March 23 this year in the phone-tapping case that became a sensation in Telangana.
Many pleas by Rao for bail since then were rejected by the court.
Former DSP Praneeth Rao was the first to be arrested in the case. Based on the information given by him, the Panjagutta police arrested Additional SPs Thirupatanna and Bhujanga Rao. The mastermind in the case, A1 Prabhakar Rao, is in the USA, and red corner notices were issued for him recently.
