Hyderabad | 31st August 2024
The Telangana Employees' Joint Action Committee (JAC) today urged the State government not implement the Unified Pension Scheme in Telangana.

Representatives of Employees' JAC led by their Chairman V Lachhi Reddy called on State Planning Commission Vice Chairman G Chinna Reddy at Praja Bhavan and urged him to see that the State government did not implement the UPS.

The employees submitted a memorandum to Chinna Reddy asking that the State government reinstate the old pension system as per the Revised Pension Rules of 1980, which they said would greatly benefit millions of employees.

Reddy responded positively to the request made by the employees and agreed to discuss the matter with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy soon and explain to him the actual situation regarding the employees' pensions.

"The Chief Minister is already aware of the issue, and a suitable decision will be made shortly," Reddy said.

He added that the State government was committed to the welfare of its employees, and always worked to provide justice to them.
