ED Arrests BRS MLC K Kavitha In Delhi Liquor Scam Case

In a shocking development, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the daughter of ex-CM K Chandrashekar Rao, was arrested by the ED officials this evening at around 6:30 pm.

A team of 8 officers led by a Joint Director of the ED went to the residence of Kavitha in Banjara Hills with a search and arrest warrant, and arrested her after quizzing her for about five hours.

The Joint Director of the ED Joginder today said that the agency had arrested Kavitha under section 19 (1) of the Prevention of the Money Laundering Act.

In a statement, he said that Kavitha had been informed about the reasons of her arrest, and that a copy of the grounds of the arrest was also served on her.

Upon knowing of the news of the arrest of Kavitha, a huge number of the activists of the BRS staged a dharna in front of her house and raised slogans against the ED officials.

The ED officials will take Kavitha to Delhi for further investigation.
