MLC Kavitha To Be In ED Custody Till March 23

The Special PMLA Court, New Delhi, today remanded Telangana MLC K Kavitha to ED custodial interrogation for seven days, till March 23.

The MLC later moved the Supreme Court against her arrest.

For the uninitiated, the Enforcement Directorate had arrested Kavitha on March 15 in the Delhi liquor policy scam.

ED officials said that a search was conducted at the residence of Kavitha in Hyderabad on March 15 but that the officials were obstructed by the relatives and associates of Kavitha.

The ED investigation revealed that Kavitha, along with others, had conspired with the top leaders of AAP, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, to get favours in the Delhi excise policy formulation and implementation.

In exchange for the favours, she was allegedly involved in paying Rs 100 crore to the leaders of AAP.
