After the APSCHE's
announcement that the counseling notification for engineering courses would be issued on August 20, the EAMCET counselling notification for the year 2012 has been released today.
The admission process for aspirants (who have written the EAMCET - the common entrance test for engineering and medicine courses) of engineering courses in Andhra Pradesh is known as "EAMCET counselling". Students report to a pre-allotted counselling centre, in ascending order of the ranks they secure in the EAMCET, and list out options for their choices of specializations and colleges in the engineering stream.
This year, the counselling process will begin on September 10, and the allottment of seats to candidates will be displayed from September 12 onwards. Meanwhile candidates will have to mark their options from August 30 to September 8. These options can be changed by September 10. Classes will start on September 17.
Counselling takes place in more than one phase. The second phase will start after the first phase is completed.
Over 3.5 lakh aspirants wrote EAMCET this year, including 2.8 lakh engineering aspirants. Roughly 2.23 lakh engineering aspirants and 83,000 medicine aspirants cleared the exam, and are competing for 3.21 lakh seats and 29,000 medical seats (including in dental colleges and pharmacy colleges), respectively.
