TS EAMCET Counselling From July 5, Classes From 29

The Telangana government has decided to conduct the first phase of the EAMCET 2016 counselling for admission into various courses from July 5 and the second phase on July 27. Classes will start on July 29.

Speaking to mediapersons in the Secretariat on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister and minister in-charge of education Kadiam Srihari said he would clarify later on the number of engineering colleges and the fee structure.

Options can be availed of by the students on July 10 and 11, and payment of fees through challans and reporting at the respective colleges can be done on July 21.

In the schedule announced, he said that the verification of certificates and exercising of options will be scheduled for July 24 and 25 as part of the final phase, and allocation of courses will be done on July 27.

Referring to reports in the media about the delay in the appointment of Vice-Chancellors for various universities in the State, Srihari said that by July 31 every varsity would get a Vice-Chancellor and an executive committee which would decide on the faculty and the staff to be appointed. He said that the search committee was winding up the process of appointment of the Vice-Chancellors, and steps were being taken to strengthen the varsities with full faculty, facilities and infrastructure.
