To make the administration transparent and accountable, an e-Office system has being introduced in the state.
The system has been started in six departments today.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said that more than 1,600 employees would be operating through the new system from today, and congratulated the officials who worked hard to make the system functional at such a short notice.
The Chief Secretary specifically complimented the General Administration Department, the prohibition & excise department, the commercial taxes department, the CCLA, and the women & child welfare department for taking the lead in using e-office.
He directed other departments too to ensure that they adopted the system soon.
Kumar said that the new system would ensure greater transparency, and save unnecessary paperwork and a lot of time. It would also ensure that every petition/representation was accounted for.
The employees and officers too expressed their thanks as e-office would allow them to work safely without handling paper.
