The Election Commission of India today issued the schedule for the by-election for the Dubbaka Assembly constituency.
As per the schedule, the by-election will be held on November 3, and the counting of the votes will be done on November 10 and the results announced on the same day.
The notification will be released on October 9, and nominations can be filed starting from the same day.
Candidates can file their nominations till October 16. The scrutiny of the nominations will happen on October 17, and any withdrawals should also be done on the same day.
The TRS has already started its campaign for the by-election. Other opposition parties are also getting busy for the same, according to reports.
With the announcement of the schedule, the model code of conduct has come into immediate effect.
The by-election was necessitated by the demise of the sitting TRS MLA Solipeta Ranalinga Reddy of ill-health.
