Cautioning people not to believe the hyperbolic promises the TDP, the YSR Congress Party leader said that her party's promises were deliverable upon.
Cautioning the people not to fall prey to the hyperbolic promises of development and grandiose talk of creating jobs of the TDP, YSR Congress Party leader Y S Vijayamma said at a public meeting in Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram district that her party's promises were deliverable upon, and that the YSR family was known to keep its promises.
She appealed to the gathering to vote for the YSRCP's fan symbol to bring back the welfare state of 2004-09.
"Chandrababu Naidu has been promising to provide employment to one person per family, but he was the person who had closed down 65 PSUs and sold many profit-making units to his close associates, resulting in the ouster of 26,000 government employees and deprivment of employment opportunities to over 7.5 lakh workers," she said.
"Pensions and employees welfare were not on his agenda while he was Chief Minister for 9 years. And he has been boasting of developing Hyderabad city, which was the 5th most developed city in the country even when he was a kid. His claim that he developed Hyderabad into an Information Technology (IT) hub is a stark lie as the city had slipped from the 3rd to the 5th place in the country after he took over as Chief Minister.
"While there were 81,000 IT professionals employed in the city during his term, that number swelled to 2.5 lakh jobs after YSR took over," she added.
"He had promised to convert Hyderabad into Singapore and the state to Swarnandhra Pradesh while he was the Chief Minister, but did nothing other than make merry with public money, go places and follow the World Bank's dictates.
"He was party to the division of the state and joined hands with Sonia Gandhi who divided the state to see her son Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.
"It is time to use your prudence in electing the right leader as we are at a very important point of history and we need to develop the new State with the necessary infrastructure, including airports, seaports and industrial corridors, and this will be possible only with a leader who has been with you and had taken up your cause at various platforms.
"I appeal to you to vote for the YSRCP fan's symbol and strengthen Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's candidature for the Chief Minister's post, and give the party the maximum number of MPs to ensure that we get enough funds and are in a position from where we can have access to the Prime Minister to develop the new State," she said.
"Jagan will bring back the golden era of YSR, and continue all his welfare schemes. He will sign five files upon becoming CM. The Amma Vodi scheme will ensure education to 2 children from each family, pensions will be increased to Rs. 700, separate funds will be set up for market stabilization and calamities, DWACRA loans will be waived, and the administration will be decentralized.
"He will sign these five files immediately upon assuming power," she avowed.
"These apart, building 50 lakh houses, providing 150 units of power for Rs. 100, turning the State into a power-surplus one by 2019, closing down belt shops, employing local women in the police force and providing 7-hour power in the day time will be taken up immediately.
"Had YSR been alive, the Janjhavathi project would not have been deserted. Jagan will complete the project, which will cater to the irrigation and drinking needs of the region. He will not privatise the RTC and the State Electricity Board but will regularize all contract employees," she concluded. (INN)
