TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the YSR Congress Party of trying to use violence to win the elections in the Seemandhra region.
Speaking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills here on Thursday, Naidu alleged that the YSRCP resorted to violence, and hired anti-social elements to influence the voters.
He also alleged that the YSRCP used fake currency notes, spurious liquor and other illegal means during the election campaign.
"The rowdism which was confined to Pulivendula has now spread to the whole of Andhra Pradesh," he said.
He added that 5 persons died after consuming spurious liquor supplied by YSRCP leaders.
The TDP chief praised his party workers for withstanding and peacefully countering the YSRCP's violence in the Seemandhra region.
He alleged that the YSRCP even tried to keep the polling percentage low fearing defeat.
He expressed confidence that the TDP would win 120 to 130 Assembly seats and 20 to 22 Lok Sabha seats in the elections.
Naidu informed that he had written a letter to the Election Commission of India seeking repoll in 9 villages in the Jammalamadugu mandal. He alleged that YSRCP acvitists rigged the polling there using force.
He also requested the Election Commission to take appropriate measures to avoid any untoward incidents. (INN)
