Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy on Wednesday appealed "to all the communities living in the historic city of Hyderabad, which is known for its 'Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb', to live with utmost communal harmony and not to precipitate matters on minor issues which are much ado about nothing".
In his appeal, the DGP said that whenever there was a contentious issue faced by any one community, the community elders or their representatives may seek the redressal of their grievances by representing to the authorities concerned, like the Hyderabad Collector and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, which he said would take the final call on the issues.
He asked people not to take the law into their hands and do what is not legal, since "they have to keep in mind that nobody is allowed to do policing when there is vibrant city police available here which is available to the needs of the Hyderabadis". (INN)
