Hyderabad | 23rd October 2015
The annual "Alai Balai" program organized by BJP senior leader and union minister for labour and employment Bandaru Dattatreya was once again an occasion and venue for the exchanging of pleasantries between the politicians of rival parties. It also offered opportunities to understand the culture of the Telangana region.

Dattatreya, who welcomed the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and the leaders of different political parties, said that the event gave an opportunity for its attendees to whole-heartedly embrace others even despite ideological differences.

The program was organized by Dattatreya at Jalvihar on Necklace Road, and was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, State Cabinet ministers and a fleet of political leaders.

Dattatreya said that it was an elevated and memorable occasion when the two Chief Ministers KCR and Naidu shook hands on the occasion of the foundation-laying ceremony for AP's new capital city Amaravathi. And going a step further, the BJP leader made the two men embrace each other in his Alai Balai program.

Besides Venkaiah Naidu, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Telangana ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Etala Rajender, CLP leader Jana Reddy, TDP leaders L Ramana, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Revanth Reddy, BJP MLA and party floor leader K Lakshman, Telangana MP Jitender Reddy, film actors Rajendra Prasad, Venu Madhav and Jeevitha, and others attended the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his message appreciated the Alai Balai program, and called it a symbol of brotherhood.
