The Cyberabad Police have issued a long list of dos and don'ts for the organisers of New Year parties in star hotels, pubs, resorts and farm houses in their limits.
According to Cyberabad Commissioner C V Anand, there are 25 star hotels, 3 pubs, 22 resorts and 269 farm-houses in the Cyberabad limits. Most star hotels fall within the Madhapur Zone, and most of the resorts and farm-houses fall under the Shamshabad and Balanagar zones.
The Commissioner said that in the recent past there were allegations that star hotels and resorts were encouraging some illegal activities which include functioning beyond the authorized timings, hookah smoking, consumption of drugs, and organising rave parties in resorts.
Wishing the people a happy New Year in advance, the Cyberabad Commissioner announced the rules and regulations for conducting New Year eve parties in an orderly and safe manner. He said that the measures that were taken last year had resulted in zero deaths in road accidents, which was unprecedented.
The Cyberabad Police is permitting New Year programmes only between 8 pm and 1 am. It said that admission to New Year parties could be only upon invitation, and no other members of the general public could be allowed. The maximum number of persons to be allowed should be declared by the organizers at the time of obtaining permission. Only registered members, their spouses and their acquaintances could be permitted. No single person (male or female) could be allowed to enter in to the venue.
The other standard norms restricting nudity, unauthorised consumption or supply of liquor, and misbehaviour; special permission for DJs; limiting noise to 45 decibels; banning weapons; and prohibiting bursting of crackers have also been imposed.
The organisers have been asked to arrange CCTVs, DFMDs and HHMDs at their premises, and track proceedings of the entire event real-time and record them.
The Commissioner said that the Outer Ring Road would be closed from 11 pm to 5 am for the general public though bonafide passengers, going to or coming from the RGI airport, would be allowed. All flyovers in the Cyberabad Police limits, including the PVNR Expressway, will be closed from 11 pm to 5 am. (INN)
