City Police Nab Eight Ganja Smugglers, Seize 910 Kg Ganja

The Hyderabad police today arrested some persons allegedly involved in the trafficking of marijuana (ganja) from Odisha to Maharashtra via Telangana.
Eight inter-state drug peddlers of Maharashtra, Odisha, Haryana, Chattisgarh & Telangana were arrested, and 910 kg of dry ganja, a DCM and five mobile phones, all worth Rs 2,80,60,000, were seized from their possession.
In the morning hours of June 12, acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended two inter-state drug peddlers for transporting ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra and seized 758 kg of ganja, a DCM van and two mobile phones, worth about Rs 2,35,00,000 cumulatively. The accused were identified as Jeevan Singh Nain of Haryana; and Golu Ankith Singh of Chattisgarh, Chandra Shekar of Odisha (absconding) and Parvez of Hyderabad (absconding).
Another team of police also separately apprehended five inter-state drug peddlers and seized 144 kg of ganja and two mobile phones, worth about Rs 43,20,000.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Stephen Ravindra, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.
The police have appealed to the public to inform them regarding information related to drug suppliers through Dial 100 or the Cyberabad Whatsapp number 9490617444. The identity of those who complain will be kept confidential.
