Drunk Driving Cases Against 3,258 People On NYE
Motorists got into arguments with the police in several places, but the latter were unflinching.

New Year Eve celebrations were held across the State, including in the GHMC limits, yesterday. Young men and women, children and adults took part in celebrations to bid adieu to 2023 and welcome 2024.
During the celebrations, youngsters were seen dancing, taking out bike rallies, cutting cakes and bursting crackers. Some were however seen under the influence of alcohol. And the police gave a rude shock to those driving under the influence, registering cases against them.
The police conducted extensive drunken driving checks across the city. Motorists got into arguments with the police in several places, but the latter were unflinching, and registered cases against 3,258 people in the three commissionerates' limits. They registered cases against 517 people in the Rachakonda commissionerate limits, and against 1,239 people including two women in the Cyberabad commissionerate limits. As many as 938 two-wheelers, 21 auto-rickshaws, 275 cars and seven heavy vehicles were seized.
