Cyberabad Police Holds Stolen Property Release Mela

The Cyberabad police today hosted a unique mela to help citizens.
A stolen property release mela was held at the Cyberabad Police Academy Ground during which properties recovered by the police were returned to their rightful owners.
Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar handed over the properties to the victims after following the required legal procedures.
Properties including gold and silver ornaments, vehicles, and cash which were lost to theft, robbery, and burglary reached the hands of their respective owners once again. Victims of property offences from all over the commissionerate were present at the program.
The mela signals the considerable successes the police have had in cracking property offence cases this year.
In a statement, Sajjanar revealed that the protection of life and property and the prevention and detection of crimes were the core duties of police.
"Living up to the expectations of the citizens, the Cyberabad Police have been making genuine and dedicated efforts in tracing criminals and apprehending them, using every possible technology. We have also focused on recovering the stolen properties. I laud the work of the police of the state in enabling us to protect our citizens," he said.
Among the returned properties were 93.1 tolas of gold and 360.2 tolas silver, Rs 30,67,463 in cash, 90 vehicles, 35 mobile phones and 11 other properties. This means that 20 cases of gold and silver theft, 30 cases of cash burgling, 90 cases of vehicle theft and 25 cases of mobile phone theft were cracked by the police.
The owners of the recovered goods expressed their happiness at getting their properties back and said that they were thankful for and satisfied with the proactive approach of the police in helping them reclaim their properties.
