The Communist Party of India on Tuesday asked the Group of Ministers (GoM) to from the new Telangana with 10 districts.
Speaking to media persons, after meeting the GoM in New Delhi, CPI state secretary K Narayana said that he had made his party's stand clear to the GoM, that it is in favour of the formation of Telangana.
Further, he asked the GoM to convene a meeting, by inviting all political parties at once.
He said that separate meetings with political groups would elicit "split and divided opinion", and not lead to consensus.
Narayana said that the GoM has been asked to address the concerns of people of Seemandhra region.
A special board should be constituted to decide the sharing of river waters, and separate boards should be formed for the development of Andhra, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions.
He said that special emphasis should be laid on early completion of all pending projects in theSeemandhra region and the Gannavaram Airport near Vijayawada should be developed as an international airport at the earliest.
Similarly, Polavaram Project should be completed soon, he stated.
The CPI leader also insisted that the GoM identify a suitable location for the new capital for Seemandhra region, and take steps for its construction. (INN)
