Telangana BJP head Bandi Sanjay Kumar today alleged that all the Covid-19 deaths in the state were nothing but "state-sponsored murders".
He said that in a bid to cover up its failings, the state government had been showing the world "misleading and false" Covid-19 figures.
"It is unfortunate that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has not been able to hold any review meetings on the pandemic although the current situation in Telangana is rather grim. In order to now rectify this earlier negligence, I demand that the CM and all the ministers at least get vaccinated at the earliest to create confidence among the people of the state. They must also take steps to include treatment for Covid-19 in the Aarogyasri health scheme," the BJP leader said.
"The state government is neither implementing the Ayushmaan Bharat scheme in Telangana for political reasons, nor is it effectively providing support through the Aarogyasri program. This is why it has failed to prevent the current situation. And now, it is conveniently shifting all the blame on to the Centre. Of course, everyone can see through the TRS regime's cheap tricks as we all know that Prime Minister Modi has been holding frequent reviews on the management of the pandemic, and that the state is receiving adequate oxygen from the Centre as well."
Kumar also claimed that the people of the state had ignored the graveness of the pandemic as the CM had made flippant comments about the disease and its impact. He warned the ministers to "control their mouths" when ignoring their own shortcomings and levelling allegations against the Centre.
