The Justice P C Ghosh Commission today issued notices to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and former ministers Harish Rao and Etala Rajender regarding alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
The Commission mentioned in its notices that KCR should appear before the inquiry on June 5, Harish Rao on June 6 and Etala Rajender on June 9.
Responding to the notices, Rajender, now a BJP MP, said that there was no need to him to fear the inquiry.
"I have not yet received any notice. I will fully cooperate with the Kaleshwaram Commission's investigation. I have faith in the law, the courts and the commission. Some people in the Congress are making petty allegations. There is no need to fear the investigation. Whoever is at fault should be punished," he said.
He also asked how IAS officer K Ramakrishna Rao, who had served as the secretary of the department when he was the State's Finance Minister, had been made the Chief Secretary of the State by the same government that had ordered an inquiry on him due to his being the Finance Minister at that time.
He also questioned the repeated extensions given to the P C Ghosh Commission's term. "Why has the Commission's term been extended so many times? Don't you know what happened to Thummala, Kadiyam and Jupally?" he asked.
Soon after the notices were issued, Harish Rao met KCR at his residence. Whether KCR will attend the inquiry before the Commission remains to be seen in the coming days.
