BJP national Vice-President D K Aruna today alleged that Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajender had "lost his mental balance" and had therefore adopted "double standards" with respect to the issue of oxygen and injection allocation by the Centre.
In a statement, Aruna said that Rajender was spreading "falsehoods" against the BJP-led Centre to "get into the good books" of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and rebuked the minister for first claiming that the state was getting enough oxygen and injections from the Centre and then making derogatory comments against the government for its alleged failure to provide the same.
"The shameless double standards adopted by Health Minister Etala Rajender are nothing but an attempt to garner the appreciation of the Chief Minister," she charged.
"The minister should get a brain check-up to avoid talking nonsense. Actually, since the CM cares very little for Rajender's role in the health sector, and since Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar also does not care for him, Rajender is busy trying to protect his post. Media reports suggest that he may lose his post at any time for revolting against the KCR regime. Fearing this, he is doing all he can to impress the CM, including making false allegations against the Modi government," the BJP bigwig added.
She then claimed that the Centre had offered the state all the necessary help to tackle the pandemic, and that Rajender's comments were made simply for political mileage
Aruna also asked him to first address his own government's failure to prevent private hospitals from looting people.
