Sep 29 Last Date For CoP-11 Arrangements
The Andhra Pradesh government fixes September 29 as the deadline for all the 12 departments working for CoP-11 to finish their ongoing works.

With only 3 days left for the first ever international biodiversity meet in India, the Andhra Pradesh Government has fixed September 29 as the deadline for all the 12 departments which are working and making arrangements for the Cop-11, to finish all the ongoing work.
The 12 departments include Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Youth Advancement, Tourism, Culture, Information & Public Relations, Roads & Buildings department and Disaster Response Force/Fire Service, Health, National Green Corps, State Bio-Diversity Board, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Forest,and Police.
The state government has released Rs. 273 crore to these departments to make roads and public places in the city appealing and safe for the 8,000 odd delegates expected from 193 countires for the CoP-11.
A bio-diversity museum is also being worked on, whose cost will be bourne by the Centre. This museum will house around 350 to 400 endangered species of trees. Works for a park opposite Hotel Quality Inn on the Gachibowli road have also been started.
Meanwhile Hyderabad Golf Club (HGC) will also be hosting a two-day golf tournament on October 13 and 14 for the delegates attending the Biodiversity Conference, at the Hyderabad Club golf course near the Qutub Shahi tombs. The Hyderabad Club golf course is a 16-hole golf course expanding over 213 acres of land.
Officials claim that over 70% of the work has been completed. Tight security is going to be provided for the delegates of the CoP-11, with around 10,000 policemen being deployed for the same. Prime Minister Manmoham Singh is also expected in Hyderabad for the meet.
