The GHMC has taken up beautification works of flyovers under its limits.
As part of the program, the GHMC will spend Rs 1.6 crore on the Secunderabad flyovers to embellish them with colourful paintings and greenery besides LED lighting.
The corporation has also sanctioned Rs 9 lakhs for developing gardens and laying of railings on the flyover between Patny and the Central Telegraph Office road. The beautification works of the flyover are going on, and North Zone Commissioner J Shankariah, along with other officials, supervised the works and directed their completion on time.
The GHMC also has plans to soon take up the beautification of all flyovers in the city to make them on par with the flyovers in Delhi. In the first phase, the beautification works of the Masab Tank, Basheerbagh, Punjagutta, Greenlands, Telugu Talli, Hara Hara Kala Bhavan, CTO and Begumpet flyovers will be taken up and completed.
Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said that all works would be completed by the corporation itself.
