The Congress has decided to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission Of India about the goings-on in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency and urge it to cancel the by-election for the Assembly seat.
Congress leaders including AICC official spokesperson Dasoju Shravan, AICC secretary Challa Vamshichand Reddy, and TPCC leaders Kusuma Kumar and Harkara Venugopal will call on the Central Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra and urge him to cancel the election.
In their complaint, they propose to tell the EC that the TRS and the BJP were not only violating the model code of conduct, but were also spending Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 10,000 per vote to buy the voters and win the elections.
They will reportedly also tell the EC that the two parties were also giving gifts and offering other inducements to the voters for their votes.
The Congress leaders have claimed that Rs. 90 crore was distributed in three and half hours in Huzurabad, and that no other constituency anywhere in the country had ever witnessed the kind of irregularities being seen in Huzurabad.
