Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today welcomed the GHMC officials responding on the Osmania University land encroachment issue after a visit by Congress leaders yesterday.

VHR said that the Congress had won the fight by getting the illegal structures in the OU campus dismantled.

He also extended his thanks to education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy for reacting to the Congress' appeal to increase the educational standards at the university.

"The Congress will take up a fight for the students to protect the lands of the universities and the students' interests. Our fight to strengthen the university will continue," he added.
