TPCC president Revanth Reddy today alleged that minister Ch Malla Reddy had swallowed tanks and ponds by buying lands around them in the Medchal Assembly constituency.
Addressing a public meeting at Jawahar Nagar in the constituency, Reddy asked why the officials failed to take action against Reddy despite his rampant encroachment. He also criticized Malla Reddy for "demolishing the huts of the poor in the constituency and depriving them of shade". Pointing out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Reddy had once again given a party ticket to Malla Reddy despite all the allegations and cases against the latter, he asked the CM how many hundreds of crores he took from the minister for that, and alleged that KCR and Malla Reddy were looting the State.
He also alleged that the State government did not move the dumping yard from Jawahar Nagar even after securing the orders for its shifting from the High Court, and said that a permanent solution needed to be found for the dumping yard problem.
Revanth Reddy also lamented that the promise of bringing IT companies to Medchal was trampled upon by the BRS rulers.
Claiming that the BRS' mismanagement was not confined to any specific consituency but was rampant across the State, Revanth Reddy said that the Kaleshwaram project built by KCR at a cost of Rs 1 lakh crore had collapsed within just three years, and that the condition of the poor in the State was bad with there being no way for them to survive the soaring prices of essential commodities.
He promised that once the Congress came to power, the six guarantees announced by their leader Sonia Gandhi would be implemented in Telangana. "If the Congress comes into power, we will help the poor. Rs 2,500 per month will be provided under the Mahalakshmi scheme. Farmers will be given 24 hours of free electricity. Indiramma houses will be sanctioned to all the poor. We will also give Rs 12,000 to everyone who goes for employment guarantee work," he said.
