A delegation of BRS leaders today met the Additional Collector of Rangareddy district and submitted a representation demanding immediate protection of 373 acres of government land worth Rs 7,000 crore in Survey No 613 of Nadargul village, which they alleged had been illegally encroached upon by real estate entities.
Acting on the directions of party working president K T Rama Rao and Deputy Floor Leader in the Assembly Harish Rao, former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, BRS Assembly Whip K P Vivekananda, MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan, former MLAs Manchireddy Kishan Reddy and Anjaiah Yadav, and senior leaders Kyama Malles and Rangingeni Abhilash met the Additional Collector at the Collectorate in Kongarakalan, and held detailed discussions on the alleged land scam.
Speaking on the occasion, Sabitha Indra Reddy said that developments over the past month clearly showed that the government was focused on grabbing government lands.
"In Rangareddy district, everywhere one looks, the intention appears to be to take over government land rather than safeguard it for public use. For the past 25 years, I have observed that former Chief Ministers Chandrababu Naidu, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and K Chandrashekar Rao protected government lands, especially within the Outer Ring Road limits, for future generations. Regarding the Nadargul Shivraj Bahadur lands, a full-day discussion was held in the Assembly during YSR's tenure, after which the land was officially declared government land and handed over to APIIC. Despite records confirming it as government land, the current government is attempting to exploit loopholes to transfer it to private entities," she alleged.
