Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday made it clear that the Congress High Command would take a final call on the issue of tainted ministers and the Telangana demand.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa said that the Congress High Command had an in-depth discussion on both the issues, and that therefore, the central leadership would take a final decision on them.
With reference to the entry of former TDP leader Kadiyam Srihari into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the PCC chief ruled out the possibilities of Congress MPs or MLAs joining the TRS.
He said the Telangana Congress MPs had deliberations with senior leaders, and that they were satisfied with the assurances given by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Earlier, in an informal chat with media persons, Botsa said that he hoped that the posts in the SC, ST and Women Commissions would be filled in the next three to four days. However, he said that posts in other corporations would be filled only if necessary.
When asked for to react to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu meeting the Governor on the tainted ministers' issue, he said that Naidu himself was a tainted leader, and that he has been "surviving" by way of stay orders from different courts on the probes ordered against him. He added that it was ridiculous on the part of Naidu to seeking the dismissal of some ministers while he himself bears a tainted image. (INN)
