Congress Fields Fresh Faces In GHMC Assembly Constituencies
Out of the 24 Assembly seats in Greater Hyderabad, the party has finalised candidates for 14 seats. And new faces feature in eight of those seats.

More than half of the Congress' first list of candidates for the Assembly seats in the GHMC limits have been allotted to newcomers.
Out of the 24 Assembly seats in Greater Hyderabad, the party has finalised candidates for 14 seats. And new faces feature in eight of those seats.
Dr Neelima fielded from Sanathnagar, Mogili Sunitha Rao fielded from Goshamahal, M Parameshwar Reddy fielded from Uppal, Adam Santosh Kumar fielded from Secunderabad, Boya Nagesh (Naresh) fielded from Chandrayangutta, Ravi Raju fielded from Yakutpura, Rajesh Kumar fielded from Bahadurpura and Sheikh Akbar fielded from Malakpet are all contesting for the first time.
Among notable others is the party's veteran leader M Anjan Kumar Yadav, who is contesting for the Musheerabad Assembly seat, had previously won the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat for two consecutive terms, but was later defeated twice in a row.
There is also Firoz Khan, nominated for the Nampally Assembly seat, who had previously contested from the PRP, TDP and Congress, and had lost all times.
Malkajgiri candidate Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao was elected as an MLA thrice and has been an MLC once. The Malkajgiri ticket was finalised after he resigned from the ruling BRS recently and joined the Congress. Rao's son Mynampally Rohit Rao as expected got the Medak ticket.
Medchal candidate Thotakura Vajresh Yadav, Qutbullapur candidate Kolan Hanumantha Reddy and Karwan candidate Osama bin Mohammed Ali Hibri had earlier contested from other parties in those respective constituencies but lost. They will once again test their luck by contesting on behalf of the Congress this time.
