Former minister and senior party leader Jana Reddy, who is known as a troubleshooter, has been roped in by the party high command to troubleshoot internal party problems and dissident leaders in Telangana.
The first list of the Congress is likely to be announced in two to three days. Many leaders who did not get tickets in the BRS and were dissatisfied with it have joined the Congress. They will also be considered by the high command in the allotment of the party tickets along with the party old-timers. The high command is therefore taking precautionary measures to ensure that those who do not get tickets do not leave the party.
Jana Reddy has been fielded by the high command to this end. A four-person committee has been appointed under his chairmanship, with Manikrao Thakre, Deepadas Munshi and Meenakshi Natarajan as its other members, and has been entrusted with the responsibility of pacifying those who do not get the party tickets and disgruntled leaders in the party.
The committee members under the leadership of Jana Reddy will meet at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday. They will focus on the constituencies where there are competitions for the party ticket, and take steps to ensure that those who do not get the ticket do not leave the party, by pacifying them.
