AICC Telangana in-charge Rama Chandra Khuntia on Tuesday condemned the arrest of his party MP A Revanth Reddy and former MP K Vishweshwar Reddy by the Hyderabad police.
He rhetorically asked whether there was a democratic rule or a dictator's rule in the state.
Khuntia said that the two Congress leaders had gone to Janwada village to expose the "irregularities" committed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's son and IT Minister K T Rama Rao, and were not causing any public disorder. They were only addressing the media when the police disrupted their press meet and arrested them, he said.
The Congress was condemning the arrest of its two leaders, who were only trying to question the "corrupt" deeds of ruling party leaders in the state in a democratic manner, he said. He also demanded that K T Rama Rao make public all the documents pertaining to his farmhouse if he had built it in a legal manner, and prove his honesty.
Alleging that corruption by and the atrocities of the TRS leaders had gone up in Telangana, Khuntia called upon the people to raise their voices against the irregularities being committed by KCR and his son.
