Congress MP A Revanth Reddy today wrote an open letter to Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao demanding that he order an inquiry into "irregularities" committed by his son and state IT minister K T Rama Rao.
He warned the CM that he would approach the courts on the issue if he did not respond to his letter.
In his letter, Reddy alleged that the minister had built a veritable palace in the name of a benami in an area which fell under the purview of GO No 111.
He said that the GO did not allow anybody to build high rise buildings and major real estate ventures in its limits.
He also asked KTR how he bought a property worth Rs 30 crore in the open market at Puppalaguda, for just Rs 1 crore, and how his total assets had gone up from just Rs 8 crore in 2014 to Rs 41 crore in 2018.
Reddy also sought to know of KTR how the donations received by the TRS had gone up to Rs 188 crore in recent times, and how his party and he were able to earn crores of rupees in a state which was riddled with Rs 3 lakh crore of debt.
