On Tuesday, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy held a meeting with the Municipal Administration and the Finance departments, with regards to the status of the construction of roads connecting the Inner Ring Road to the Outer Ring Road.
In the meeting, held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister was informed by officials that originally, 33 radial roads connecting the Inner Ring Road to the Outer Ring Road were identified.
Of these 33 roads, the construction of 12 roads has already been completed, and that of 5 more roads is in progress.
Sanctions are pending for the construction of the remaining 16 roads, which are approximately 195 kms long.
The Chief Minister agreed to sanction 16 more radial roads (which are together 195 kms long), in order to facilitate the connectivity between the Inner Ring Road and the Outer Ring Road.
The CM sanctioned a budget of Rs. 1,200 crores for this project, and directed the Finance department of the state to implement the required procedures.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking administrative officials like the Finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, the Municipal Administration minister M Maheedhar Reddy, Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty, Municipal Administration Commissioner Janardhana Reddy, and other senior officials. (INN)
