The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) today warned the owners of land abutting its Outer Ring Road (ORR) project not to take up any kind of temporary or permanent construction in its buffer zone.
It said that a 15 metre (50 feet) area on either side of the ring road project was classified as the buffer zone, and was meant only for the development of greenery.
HMDA Commissioner Arvind Kumar held a review meeting today on the issue with the officials concerned, and made it clear that the rules related to the buffer zone needed to be implemented in a strict manner.
He also asked the municipalities and village panchayats abutting the ORR to give permissions to construction and layout projects only after taking into consideration the buffer zone.
