Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday demanded an unconditional apology from Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy for arresting Telangana Employees' Joint Action Committee chairman Swamy Goud.
Talking to media persons after participating as the Chief Guest in the TNGOs employees steering committee meeting held at TNGO Bhavan at Nampally, KCR demanded that the Chief Minister and the DGP explain the grounds on which Swamy Goud was arrested.
He warned Chief Minister of serious consequences if he directs the police to arrest Telangana activists participating in the general strike.
Stating that no one can stop the Telangana agitation, KCR said that people of the region were demanding that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram honour the promise that he had made on 9 December 2009, declaring that the process of creation of Telangana would begin.
Saying that the problems of all would be resolved with the formation of a separate state, KCR expressed satisfaction over the T employees' participation in the Telangana agitation. He appealed to the police to observe restraint while taking action on Telangana activists as he said they are their 'neighbours'. (INN)
