Hyderabad | 10th February 2012
The Telangana Employees' Joint Action Committee, on Friday, served a notice to the state government, threatening to go an indefinite strike.
The JAC leaders, including TNGOs president Swamy Goud and TGO president Srinivas Goud, served the notice to Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi, at the latter's chambers in the state Secretariat.
Later, talking to media persons, Swamy Goud complained that the state government did not honour the promises that it had made to its Telangana employees when the 42-day long Sakala Janula Samme was ending.
Swamy Goud alleged that the employees who had participated in the Telangana agitation were being subjected to discrimination and harassment. He said several promotions and retirement processes of employees have been stalled by the government. Several outsourcing employees, who joined the general strike, are being removed, he alleged.
The TNGOs president said that the Telangana employees would not remain silent to injustices, and that they would go on another indefinite strike.
He also announced a fresh agitation schedule. On 3 March, the TEJAC will stage a dharna at the Districts' Collectorates in the Telangana region. A Maha Dharna will be organised on 5 March. On 20 March, a massive "Udyoga March" will be organised. (INN)
