State Minister and Seemandhra Legislators Forum convener Dr. S Sailajanath on Sunday made it clear that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and other ministers from the Seemandhra region are firm on their stand on united Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters in Ongole, after participating in an event at the Prakasam District Police Headquarters, Sailajanath said that the CM has reiterated his commitment towards united AP on several occasions.
"CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has been opposing the state's division, in the interest of all Telugu people, the Congress party and the country," he said.
He also condemned AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh's comments over the stand taken by the CM.
Sailajanath said that the division of AP would lead to several new problems for both the regions, and therefore in the interest of democracy, the process of bifurcation should be stopped at once.
He also praised the employees for spearheading the Samaikyandhra agitation, which helped in building political pressure on the Centre. (INN)
