Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today directed officials to initiate the process for issuing family digital cards on a pilot basis in 119 Assembly constituencies across Telangana.
The CM conducted a high-level review regarding the issuance of family digital cards at the Secretariat. During the meeting, officials provided details about the pilot project, and said that the selection of villages and wards/divisions for field-level inspection in the 119 constituencies had been completed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister proposed selecting one urban and one rural area within each constituency for this initiative.
"If a constituency is entirely urban, two wards or divisions should be chosen; if it is entirely rural, two villages should be selected," he said.
This approach would result in a total of 238 areas for field-level inspection, he said.
In light of the high population density in certain areas, Reddy suggested increasing the number of field visit teams in the wards and divisions.
When Reddy inquired about the time required to complete the pilot project, the officials said that the identification process for families had already been completed based on data from ration cards, pensions, self-help groups, farmer insurance, health insurance and other sources. They added that field visits would take place over five days, from October 3 to October 7. The Chief Minister emphasized that field-level officials must seek permission from families before taking their photos, saying that photo-taking should be optional and must cease if any family member objects.
Reddy also said that the Nodal Officers of the old districts should guide the district Collectors regarding the field-level inspections to ensure that the program was conducted effectively.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to take the necessary steps for the registration of names and make any required changes in the compilation of the family member details, and warned against any mistakes. He also requested a report on the challenges and productive outcomes related to issuing digital cards based on the pilot project.
Ministers Konda Surekha and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, along with Advisor to the Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and senior officials from various departments participated in the review meeting.
