Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced the launch of the 10-day Praja Palana program from Sepember 17 across Telangana to issue ration cards and health cards to eligible residents.
"From now on, ration cards and health cards will be issued separately, and will no longer be linked. The necessary details will be collected from each family," the Chief Minister said.
Reddy, along with Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, held a review meeting with officials from the medical and health department at the Secretariat. They directed officials to prepare for the program in all villages and wards throughout the State.
During the meeting, the CM addressed several issues, including the procedures for issuing digital health cards, the required medical tests to register each person's health profile, the establishment of health check-up camps in villages, and the involvement of State laboratories.
Expressing concern over the rising cases of dengue, chikungunya and viral fevers in various hospitals, the Chief Minister urged the officials to remain vigilant against seasonal diseases and to implement preventive measures before they spread further.
He ordered fogging and spraying to eliminate mosquitoes in all urban and rural areas of the State, including Greater Hyderabad. The officials were instructed to ensure fogging in all areas under the GHMC jurisdiction, and to conduct regular field-level inspections. The CM warned that employees failing to perform their duties or showing negligence towards public health measures would face suspension.
The CM also directed officials to expedite the construction of a new building for the Osmania Hospital in Goshamahal. He noted that the Police Stadium and the Police Sports Complex at Goshamahal had about 32 acres of land, and instructed officials to transfer this land, currently under the police department's control, to the medical and health department to facilitate the construction of the new hospital.
