Pilot Project For Family Digital Cards Launched

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy today launched the pilot project for the Family Digital Cards at the Hockey Grounds in Secunderabad.
Hyderabad | 3rd October 2024
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today launched the pilot project for the Family Digital Cards at the Hockey Grounds in Secunderabad.

During the event, the Chief Minister said that the government was initiating the project in 119 Assembly constituencies across the State, and that the cards would help people access the benefits of the welfare schemes.

"The Telangana government has already announced plans to implement a One State One Card policy. The objective of this new policy is to extend welfare scheme benefits to all eligible citizens. The card will serve as a protective shield for every family, providing access to benefits including ration, Arogyasri, fee reimbursement and more through a single card. Each person's health profile will also be included in their digital card, which will help low-income families. This pilot project has been launched to identify challenges in the issuance of the cards and to find solutions to any issues encountered," the Chief Minister said.

He also said that the State government had appointed an RDO-level officer as a monitoring officer for each constituency, with a woman recognized as the head of the family on the card.

The Chief Minister also addressed recent issues regarding the HYDRAA demolitions and the Musi riverfront development project. He emphasized that the main objective of these initiatives was to protect the city of Hyderabad. He expressed readiness to invite suggestions for alternatives, and asked why the opposition remained silent during the discussion on HYDRAA in the Assembly.

"The government is providing housing and Rs 25,000 in financial assistance to the individuals living along the Musi river who will get displaced, enabling them to lead a better life with dignity. They have been living in unhygienic conditions and squalor, and this will improve the quality of their lives. However, opposition leaders are portraying this as a problem, merely to protect their own interests," he claimed.

Reddy said that he had been in public life for the past 20 years and was well aware of the people's struggles, and asked how long the opposition leaders would continue to engage in "dirty politics" over the Musi issue.
