Chiranjeevi Qualified To Be CM: Botsa
I will certainly become the CM and serve the state, Chiranjeevi had said on Tuesday, and PCC chief Botsa defends the statement, saying that Chiru is qualfied to be CM.
Defending Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi's statement that he would 'become Chief Minister in real life one day', Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday said that the former actor had all the necessary qualifications to occupy the chair of the Head of Government.
Talking to media persons after inaugurating a bus shelter at Patancheru in Medak district, Botsa said that Chiranjeevi has all the qualifications to become Chief Minister.
"Who says that he has no qualifications and efficiency to become the Chief Minister of the state?" countered the PCC chief in response to repeated pleas to respond to the statement.
Botsa said that he did not find anything wrong in Chiranjeevi's statement.
"However, the media has blown the statement out of proportion and given it a political colour," he stated.
Chiranjeevi had made the statement while inaugurating a private TV channel in the city on Tuesday.
"People want to see me as their Chief Minister. I will certainly become the Chief Minister and serve the state," he had said.
Describing the Telangana issue as an 'emotional one,' Botsa stated that he would impress upon the High Command to take a favourable decision on the controversial statehood issue.
He said that the government would continue Rs. 2 a kg rice scheme for people below the poverty line.
Botsa also said that he would make efforts to establish a satellite RTC depot at Narsapur for the convenience of travellers. (INN)
