Former Chief Minister of the state and opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu today alleged that law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh had turned atrocious.
He said that the situation had been continuously deteriorating in the state for several months, and was at an all-time low now.
He wrote a letter to this effect to the DGP of the state Gautam Sawang.
In his letter, he told the DGP that goons, the mafia and anti-social elements had turned the state into hell, and that democracy was in danger in the state.
He also alleged that attacks were taking place on the oppressed classes of the state continuously.
He said that the attack on the house of Telugu journalist Venkata Narayana in Kundoor village of the Punganur Assembly constituency of the state was evidence of the same.
He alleged that those accused of the attack belonged to the ruling YSR Congress Party, and that the police were not registering a case against the accused due to that reason.
He attached clippings containing the details of the attack on the journalist's house along with his letter.
Naidu said that two dalits from the same constituency, M Narayana and Om Pratap, were found dead under suspicious circumstances.
