TDP general secretary Lokesh Naidu on Friday accused the YSRCP leaders of attacking even the government officials if they tried to stop the former's "illegal and corrupt" activities.
Naidu condemned the latest YSRCP attack on the revenue staff at Moturu village in Gudivada mandal of Krishna district. Revenue inspector Aravind had a narrow escape from the attack by the Gudivada "Gaddam Gang" which was behind the soil mafia there, Naidu claimed.
The TDP leader said that the YSRCP goons had gone to the extent of threatening to run a JCB over the revenue staff if they obstructed their illegal soil mining.
"The midnight attack was undoubtedly sponsored by the Gaddam Gang. Till yesterday, the ruling party leaders had tortured the people, opposition leaders and people's organizations with the help of the government officials and the police. Now, the government officials are also being targeted," he said.
It was high time that the police realized that they too would become victimised by the ruling party mafia soon, Naidu added.
Naidu demanded that the police take immediate action against the Gaddam Gang. All necessary protection should be provided to the government officials and staff engaged in preventing land and soil mafia activities, he said.
The TDP MLC also derisively asked whether giving life threats to officials was the "vishwaroopam" that the former minister from Gudivada had threatened to reveal to the people.
"The Casino Star seems to have started stepping up his illegal activities after losing his portfolio," he said. He added that it was with the active support of the Chief Minister that the ruling party "mafia" was perpetrating attacks on all sections of the people in the State.
