The Pradesh Congress Committee President Botsa Satyanarayana, on Friday, came down heavily on Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu for hurling what he called baseless charges against the state government on various issues.
In a press statement at the Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC chief stated that Naidu has no moral right to criticize the government over the liquor scam and corruption, considering the fact that he himself was involved in many scams.
"Naidu would have landed in prison if he had got a stay from the court in connection with the disproportionate assets case," he said.
He condemned Naidu for levelling charges against him in connection with the liquor scam, and said that no member of his family is involved with the liquor mafia.
Botsa also asked YSR Congress President Jaganmohan Reddy to stop the "malicious" campaign against the government in the name of the farmers' cause.
He reiterated that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government is committed to the farmers' welfare, and that it has been taking all steps possible to provide them relief.
In addition, he said that the opposition parties were staging protests on farmers' issues only to gain political mileage. (INN)
